robot tie

Forgive my work webcam pic, I'll post better pics of this soon with my friend modeling.

This is a tie I found whilst cleaning my mess of a room recently. It was going to be a gift for someone else, but the idea was too awesome to let gos. My Valentine, Dennis, promised to wear it all of the time if I made it, so here it is.

I drew the robot, then most of the pencil wiped away, so this was pretty much freehanded. Haha.

The robot ended up bigger than I planned (his claws extend on the other side of the tie) and there are only two claws per hand (I have been informed that robots have at least 3 claws on each hand). But, hey, I'm learning.

Anyone know where I can get cool blank ties to play with?

headbands

Here are two headbands I made this past week. The first is the hipster headband that I've seen all over the interwebs. I took the leftover fabric from my Lebowskifest shirt and made a braid. The second one is inspired by a $15 headband I saw in the maill that I recreated for $2. Ha, take that. :)

My friend Elizabeth gave me a lomo, so I'm currently falling in love and taking 35mm pics. If anyone knows of any good lomo sites, hook me up.

On Friday, I made a t-shirt for a friend's birthday party that was "The Big Lebowski" themed. It's not too impressive, so no pic (for now?).

Saturday, I made this lovely: a brownie pizza. My grandma used to make me one for special occasions growing up and it's one of my favorite desserts ever. I just had to veganize it!

The crust is a double choc brownie mix with cherries, the sauce a vegan buttercream frosting, and topped with blackberries, kiwi, and mandarin oranges. It was pretty tasty. I think that I put my Grandma to shame. :)

Oh, and I have purple hair. Yay!

here is the tote bag that i embroidered for my dear friend, Shelby S. it doesn't feel complete. i need to clean it up (some of my pencil marks are still on it), but i want to do something more with it. suggestions?
it's my first tote bag to embroider and i used cotton ease yarn so that it would be washable.

Sickness and the first week of school kept me from crafting. I am still working on a friend"s gift, but it is not quite done yet.

I slept half of today away. The only thing I made from scratch and finished was cornbread.

However, I'm working on something for a friend that should be finished by tomorrow that I'll post soon.

just another manic monday

last night before bed i made this (after midnight, so technically today).

i made a friend one similar a while back and i had been meaning to finish mine.

my first day this semester was great. i'm excited about my classes and about working on the school paper.

twas the night before spring semester

and i did two more pages for my 2009 scrapbook. i have so many pages that i had to expand my book. yay for big spines.

In the year twenty ten

I decided to do Craft or Bust 2010. For a few years now, I have been wanting to do a craft blog and maybe joining this will help me.

A little about myself: I am 25, I live in Arkansas, and I am into many crafts. I knit pretty basic stuff, I have mad scrapbooking skills, I make some jewelry, I bake vegan goodies, and I am learning how to embroider.

School starts this week, so I am not sure how much craftiness I can get done, but I will certainly try!
